The title of this article is taken from the 1951 science fiction film, “The Day the Earth Stood Still.” In the movie, an alien lands his spaceship on Earth and issues a warning to mankind to not bring its wars into outer space. Klaatu, the alien messenger, explains that the people of the other planets have safety concerns now that humanity has developed rockets and a rudimentary form of atomic power. To demonstrate that the members of the other planets mean business and will destroy the Earth if humanity does not change its warring ways, Klaatu neutralizes all electricity everywhere on Earth, except where human safety would be compromised, such as at hospitals and on aircraft in flight. Suddenly, all motorized vehicles and all electric power were inoperative and the Earth stood still for thirty minutes.

Mankind has now developed a weapon that can make the Earth literally stand still. Electromagnetic pulse bombs, EMPs, are weapons that can fry a nation’s electric grid and the electric circuitry used in everyday electric devices such as automobiles, computers, household appliances, lighting, radios, televisions, and all other electric devices that people rely on for convenience. EMPs can also cripple a nation militarily, as national defense relies on machinery and weapons that are totally dependent on electric components.

Scripture prophecy declares that America, the great end time nation referred to as ‘Babylon the great,’ will be crippled by an EMP attack, will stand still for a time, and then afterward will be completely destroyed by a full-scale nuclear attack.

JEREMIAH 51:32:
The reeds they have burned with fire [THE ELECTRONIC CIRCUITS AND ELECTRIC GRID OF THE NATION HAVE BEEN FRIED BY EMPs – ELECTROMAGNETIC PULSE BOMBS], and the [AMERICAN] soldiers are terrified.

reed:
An electrical contact used in a magnetically operated switch or relay [1].

After the EMP attack, America will not be able to function or defend itself militarily. America’s soldiers, rendered defenseless and recognizing their helplessness, will be terrified of an impending military attack.

JEREMIAH 50:43:
“The king of Babylon [THE AMERICAN PRESIDENT] has heard the report about them [RUSSIA AND HER ALLIES], and his hands grow feeble; anguish has taken hold of him, and pangs as of a woman in childbirth.”

After the EMP attack on America, the president, his generals, and the whole U.S. military will sit defenseless as Russia and her allies surround the United States and ready themselves to destroy it.

JEREMIAH 50:41-42:
Behold, a people shall come from the north, and a great nation [RUSSIA] and many kings [RUSSIA’S ALLIES] shall be raised up from the ends of the earth. They shall hold the bow and the lance [NUCLEAR MISSILE LAUNCHERS]; they [RUSSIA AND HER ALLIES] are cruel and shall not show mercy. Their [RUSSIA AND HER ALLIES] voice shall roar like the sea. They [RUSSIA AND HER ALLIES] shall ride on horses [MILITARY VEHICLES], set in array, like a man [SOLDIER] for the battle, against you, O daughter of Babylon [AMERICA – SPIRITUAL OFFSPRING NATION OF BABYLON (CONFUSION)].

JEREMIAH 51:1-4:
Thus says YHWH (the Lord): “Behold, I will stir up the spirit of a destroyer against Babylon [AMERICA], against those who dwell in Leb – My opponents [ISLAMIC NATIONS]. And I will send winnowers to Babylon [AMERICA], who shall winnow in her [AMERICA’S] empty land. For they [RUSSIA AND HER ALLIES] shall be
against her [AMERICA] all around in the day of doom. Against her [AMERICA] let the archer bend his bow [LET THE MISSLE LAUNCHER AIM HIS NUCLEAR MISSILES], and stand ready in his armor [MILITARY VEHICLES AND
SHIPS]. Do not spare her [AMERICA’S] young men; utterly destroy all her [AMERICA’S] army. Thus the slain shall fall in the land of the Chaldeans [AMERICAS], and those pierced through in her [AMERICA’S] streets.”

Russia and her allies will destroy America without mercy, as America stands still and cannot defend itself after being neutralized by an EMP bomb attack.

PRE-TRIB, MID-TRIB, OR POST-TRIB RAPTURE?

There will be two major raptures, the American rapture and the worldwide rapture. Many Scripture scholars understand that there will be a rapture of the saints of God, but get hung up on the timing and are short-sighted in limiting God, believing that the rapture will be a single event.

ISAIAH 18:5-7:
For before the harvest [BEFORE THE WORLDWIDE HARVEST (RAPTURE) OF THE SAINTS], when the bud [TIMING] is perfect and the sour grape [THE SIN OF HOMOSEXUALITY] is ripening in the flower [AMERICA], then He will both cut off the twigs [THE UNRIGHTEOUS] with pruning hooks and cut down and take away [RAPTURE] the branches [THE RIGHTEOUS]. They [THE UNRIGHTEOUS] will be left [BEHIND] together for the mountain birds of prey [REVELATION 18:2] and for the beasts of the earth. The birds of prey [REVELATION 18:2] will summer on them, and all the beasts of the earth will winter on them [EAT THEM].
In that time [OF THE DESTRUCTION OF BABYLON (AMERICA)] a present [THE RAPTURED AMERICAN SAINTS] will be brought to YHWH (the Lord) of hosts from a people tall and smooth-skinned [AMERICA], and from a people awesome from their beginning onward [AMERICA] – a nation powerful and trampling [AMERICA], whose land [AMERICA] the rivers divide – to the place of the name of YHWH (the Lord) of hosts, to Mount Zion [NEW JERUSALEM].

Isaiah 18:5 indicates that there will be two harvests, which are two raptures. There will be the American harvest (rapture) and then afterward the main harvest (world rapture).

JEREMIAH 50:44-46:
“Behold, he [RUSSIA] shall come up like a lion from the floodplain of the Jordan against the dwelling place of the strong [OF FAITH – THE AMERICAN SAINTS], but I [YHWH – THE LORD] will make them [THE AMERICAN SAINTS] suddenly run away [BE RAPTURED – ISAIAH 18:1-7] from her [AMERICA]. And who is the Chosen One that I may appoint over her [AMERICA – FOR JUDGMENT]? For who is like Me? Who summons Me? And who is that Shepherd that will withstand Me? Therefore hear the counsel of YHWH (the Lord) that He has taken against Babylon [AMERICA], and His purposes that He has proposed against the land of the Chaldeans [AMERICAS]: Surely the least of the flock [LEAST OF THE SAINTS] [GOD] shall draw [RAPTURE] them out; He will make their [AMERICAN SAINTS’] dwelling place desolate before them. At the noise [NUCLEAR BOMB EXPLOSIONS] of the overtaking of Babylon [AMERICA] the earth trembles [FROM NUCLEAR BLAST SHOCKWAVES], and the outcry shall be heard among the nations.”

The American rapture will be pre-tribulation. The destruction of Babylon the great (America) will mark the beginning of the great tribulation. American saints who are raptured will be raptured before the great tribulation, before the Antichrist rises, and before the implementation of the mark of the beast (Isaiah 18:5-7; Jeremiah 50:44-46). The worldwide rapture will be mid-tribulation. Worldwide saints who are raptured will be raptured after the great tribulation is underway, after the Antichrist reveals himself to the world, but before the mark of the beast is implemented (1 Corinthians 15:51-53; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; 2 Thessalonians 2:1-4).

DOOMSDAY PREPPERS OF THE ECONOMIC CRASH AND EMP ATTACK

Some economic doomsday preppers believe that the American economy will completely collapse. Scripture reveals that this will not be the case.

REVELATION 18:11:
“And the merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her [AMERICA], for no one buys their merchandise anymore.”

America will be buying and importing the world’s goods right up until the day that it is destroyed. After America is destroyed, merchants around the world will no longer be able to sell their merchandise. As a result of the destruction of America, there will be a worldwide economic crisis as merchants around the world who supply America’s goods will not be able to sell their merchandise anymore and they will shut down their factories.

There are people who are storing up stockpiles of food and weapons to protect themselves and their families in preparation for an act of war in which America will be struck by EMP weapons that will cause the country to go into an economic and electrical power crash – for years.

The EMP doomsday preppers are wasting their time, planning in futility. Scripture prophecy indicates that America will be struck by an EMP weapon (Jeremiah 51:32) and goes on to say that America will be completely destroyed by fire in one hour (Revelation 18), so there will be no prolonged years of surviving in an apocalyptic America in the aftermath of an EMP attack.

JEREMIAH 50:42:
They shall hold the bow and the lance [NUCLEAR MISSILE LAUNCHERS]; they [RUSSIA AND HER ALLIES] are cruel and shall not show mercy.

Do the doomsday preppers really believe that Russia, who will be aligned with many Muslim nations that are opponents of the God of Scripture (Jeremiah 51:1), is going to launch an EMP attack on America and allow America to survive and one day recover and retaliate? That is extremely naïve wishful thinking. Russia is not going to do an EMP hit-and-run on America, like Japan did when they bombed America’s naval fleet at Pearl Harbor. Shortly after the EMP attack, Russia will use its nuclear arsenal and totally destroy its longtime rival, the United States of America.

Muslim nations, whose leaders routinely declare among their citizenry, “Death to America,” are finally going to have an opportunity to deliver a deathblow to America. These Muslim nations are cruel and will show no mercy to America as they join Russia in the attack on the United States.

THE ANTICHRIST AND THE GREAT TRIBULATION

REVELATION 13:16-18:
He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666.

The worldwide economic crash will give rise to the Antichrist, who will impose his mandatory mark on everyone in order to solve the world’s economic problems. No one will be able to buy or sell anything without receiving the computer chip implant offered by the Antichrist.

Americans will never know the identity of the Antichrist and Americans will not be forced to take the mark of the beast, because America will be completely destroyed before the Antichrist rises.

WHY WILL GOD ALLOW AMERICA TO BE DESTROYED?

JEREMIAH 49:18, 50:40:
“As in the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighbors,” says YHWH (the Lord), “No one shall remain (reside) there, nor shall a son of man dwell in it.” America will be destroyed for same reason and in the same manner that Sodom and Gomorrah were. America will be completely destroyed due to its widespread national sin of homosexuality and the broad acceptance of it.

WHAT SHOULD PEOPLE DO AFTER THE EMP ATTACK, AND BEFORE THE DAY OF DOOM – THE DESTRUCTION OF AMERICA?

JEREMIAH 51:2:
For they [RUSSIA AND HER ALLIES] shall be against her [AMERICA] all around in the day of doom.

After the EMP attack on America, Russia and her allies will gather their warships all around America along the east coast, west coast, and the Arctic. The United States will be crippled, defenseless, and paralyzed, unable to do anything as America’s day of doom, the day of the nuclear annihilation of the land, approaches.

What are believers to do?

God would not destroy Sodom for the sake of ten righteous persons (Genesis 18:32), nor would He bring cataclysmic judgment upon America for the sake of ten righteous persons. He will provide an escape, an American rapture, for the sake of the righteous Americans before bringing judgment upon the land.

God did not destroy Sodom, until He first escorted righteous Lot and his family out of Sodom (Genesis 19:12-25). God will not destroy America until He first escorts, via the American rapture, the righteous out of America (Isaiah 18:5-7; Jeremiah 50:44-45, 51:33,45; Revelation 18:4).

JEREMIAH 51:31-32:
One runner will run to meet another, and one reporter to meet another, to report to the king of Babylon [PRESIDENT OF AMERICA] that his [THE PRESIDENT’S] city [NATION] is overtaken on all sides, the passages are blocked, the reeds they have burned with fire [THE ELECTRONIC CIRCUITRY / GRID OF THE NATION HAVE BEEN FRIED BY EMPs – ELECTROMAGNETIC PULSE BOMBS], and the soldiers are terrified.

After the day that causes America to stand still, many will be running to and fro, seeking assistance from the government to fix the problem, as many American people typically run to their government providers for assistance.

LUKE 21:28:
“Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”

Luke 21:28 is not a reference to the redemption of Americans, but the same redemption principle applies. The U.S. government will not be able to prevent America’s EMP attack, fix it, or prevent America’s destruction that will soon follow the EMP attack. After the EMP attack, American believers should begin to call upon the name of YHWH (the Lord) for their salvation (Joel 2:32; Romans 10:13). There are two destinies for most Americans: live faithfully and righteously to be counted worthy to escape the American nuclear annihilation through the American rapture (Luke 21:36), or be caught up in sin and unrighteousness to be left behind to die in the American nuclear holocaust and become food for the birds of prey and the beasts of the Earth (Isaiah 18:6; Revelation 18:2). Some Americans may be on foreign soil during business trips or vacations and there may be a select few Americans in deep underground bunkers who may be able to survive the nuclear detonations, who would have otherwise been killed during the nuclear attack.

Many Americans, including many professing believers, will not make the American rapture. Many professing believers are actively engaged in sins that can and will keep them from God’s presence. The day America stands still will be the final sign and warning given days or hours before America’s destruction occurs. Americans will have one last chance to repent and seek God for their redemption through the American rapture, before America’s destruction occurs.
