Popular culture through books, comics, and movies, has created an altered human existence of which many people are fascinated with and idolize. This alternate universe is void of reality and scientific truth. These genres are not entertainment for critical-thinking persons. This article will expose some evils that are at the root of some of the zombie / monster / superhero pop culture character phenomenon and the subtle brainwashing propaganda dangers inherent in these stories that cause many to reject God.

ZOMBIES
Zombies are fictional, resurrected, undead creatures regularly encountered in horror and fantasy-themed works. They are typically depicted as mindless, reanimated corpses with a hunger for human flesh, and particularly for human brains in some depictions.

The 1968 film, “Night of the Living Dead,” by George A. Romero, is where the zombie genre got started. Today there are many spin-off movies and a television series, “The Walking Dead,” in which ‘walkers’ live to attack the living.

The main theme of zombies is that they have come back to life through some type of man- made radiation or virus strain. When they return to life as the undead, they are typically stronger than non-affected living humans with an instinct to attack, infect, and eat human flesh.

The idea of dead corpses coming back to life, in many cases stronger than their unaffected living human counterparts, with a mindless desire to bite human flesh is beyond absurd. It is just a cheap entertainment form of cannibalism. When humans, dead or alive, are exposed to dangerous nuclear radioactive material or viruses, they are weakened and can die. Nuclear waste does not reanimate life. The dead have no functioning organs, so eating human flesh, or eating anything, wouldn’t provide anything nourishing to them at all and wouldn’t even be possible.

Chemistry cannot bring the dead back to life. Once dead, corpses remain dead.

ECCLESIASTES 9:5-6:
… the dead know nothing, and they have no more reward. Also their love, their hatred, and their envy have now perished. Nevermore will they have a share in anything done under the sun.

MONSTERS

V AMPIRES

Dracula is the original nocturnal ‘undead’ vampire. In order to maintain life, vampires must feed every evening on human blood. Vampires are capable of metamorphosing into a bat or a wolf. Vampires cannot be exposed to the light of the sun, or they will be burned to ashes by it, thus they operate in the darkness, rising from their tomb every evening after sunset and returning to it before sunrise.

Vampires have been glorified and glamorized in the recent Twilight film series. Sadly, there are many people today who desire to become actual vampires, having forsaken God for the desire to become an evil mythical creature that does not exist.

VAMPIRES AND SCRIPTURE

VAMPIRES MUST FEED ON BLOOD TO SUSTAIN THEIR ‘UNDEAD’ LIFE

LEVITICUS 3:17:
This shall be a perpetual statute throughout your generations in all your dwellings: you shall eat neither fat nor blood.

LEVITICUS 17:11 & 14:
For the life of the flesh is in the blood … You shall not eat the blood of any flesh, for the life of all flesh is its blood.

DEUTERONOMY 12:23:
… do not eat the blood, for the blood is the life; you may not eat the life …

VAMPIRES WALK IN DARKNESS AND CANNOT BE EXPOSED TO THE LIGHT.

LAMENTATIONS 3:2:
He has led and made me walk in darkness and not in light.

JOHN 3:20:
For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.

THE WOLF MAN
The Wolf Man, aka a werewolf, is a mythical human who is under a curse, having been bitten or scratched by a werewolf and after having survived the attack, has become a werewolf. As a werewolf is exposed to the light of a full moon in human form, he morphs into a human/wolf hybrid creature, roaming the night hunting flesh.

Humans do not have the ability to morph into any other mammal, either as a result of infection or by intention. Nature’s greatest morph is the mimic octopus, which has the ability to shape-shift and mimic at least 15-different forms of life.

THE WOLF MAN (WEREWOLF) AND SCRIPTURE

THE WOLF MAN IS UNDER A CURSE AND MORPHS INTO A WEREWOLF WHEN EXPOSED TO THE LIGHT OF A FULL MOON

PSALM 81:3:
Blow the trumpet at the time of the New Moon, at the full moon, on our solemn feast day.

ISAIAH 66:23:
And it shall come to pass that from one New Moon to another, … , all flesh shall come and worship before Me, says the Lord.

HOSEA 5:7:
They have dealt treacherously with the Lord, for they have begotten pagan children. Now a New Moon shall devour them and their heritage.

FRANKENSTEIN
Frankenstein has become synonymous with the monster creation of Dr. Victor Frankenstein, the creator of the monster. Dr. Frankenstein constructs his ‘creation’ from an assortment of human beings and using chemistry with the use of electricity, scientifically animates his ‘creation’ to life, in essence creating life from human parts.

Chemistry and electricity cannot bring the dead back to life.

FRANKENSTEIN IS GIVEN LIFE

GENESIS 2:7:
And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.

SUPERHEROES

SPIDERMAN
Peter Parker gets bitten by a radioactive spider at a science exhibit and, through genetic fusion, acquires the agility and proportional strength of a spider. Along with his newfound strength, Parker gains the ability to adhere to walls and ceilings, like a spider, with tensile- strong fibers that protrude from his hands and feet. Parker also has the ability to shoot webbing from his wrists that allows him to travel like Tarzan among New York City’s skyscrapers as well as use his webbing as an weapon against criminals and spin webs.

When spiders bite humans, they typically release neurotoxic venom, which attacks the nervous system. The bite of a spider does not release spider DNA into the bite victim. Adding radioactivity to such a bite will not cause human and arachnid cells to fuse into a hybrid.

In nature hybrids can and do occur, but the offspring of such unions are not stronger or superior to the original mating species. For example, a mule is the offspring of a male donkey and a female horse. Mules have 63 chromosomes, a mixture of the horse’s 64 and the donkey’s 62. The different structure and number typically prevents the chromosomes from pairing up properly rendering most mules infertile. Superior life through hybridization is a false premise of the theory of evolution that gets propagandized in sci-fi movies.

THE INCREDIBLE HULK
Bruce Banner absorbs a massive lethal dose of gamma radiation in a laboratory accident. Instead of dying, he seems unscathed, but later learns that when triggered by anger, he becomes a raging, Incredible Hulk with limitless superhuman strength.

In the real world, over-exposure to gamma radiation and other forms of radioactive material totally destroys the cells of the body. Thousands of people have been killed, acquired cancers, and have become disabled as a result of accidents in Chernobyl, Fukushima, and many other smaller scale nuclear accidents throughout the world.

X-MEN
The X-Men are a team of mutant superheroes. They have all been born with beneficial mutations that they have to learn to socially accept and live with. These mutants have incredible abilities, either mental, physical, or both.

A QUOTE FROM THE FIRST X-MEN MOVIE
“Mutation. It is the key to our evolution. It has enabled us to evolve from a single-celled organism to the dominant species on the planet. This process is slow, normally taking thousands and thousands of years. But every few hundred millennia evolution leaps forward.”

X-Men are a characterization of, and represent, modern evolution theory. To say that the human race evolved from single-celled organisms (amoeba to man theory) is completely unsubstantiated by science, without scientific proof and is wild baseless speculation. Spontaneous beneficial mutation has NEVER occurred, nor can it ever occur. It is IMPOSSIBLE. Two human beings CANNOT give birth to a mutant human who has wings. Wings are not in the genetic code of the parents, so such an offspring is NOT POSSIBLE.

People go to the movies often for escapism and they suspend disbelief. That is perfectly fine to do, to enjoy works of fiction from time to time. Certain works of fiction, the resurrection, glorification, and fear of the living dead are cinematic stories that should be avoided. Remembering that these stories are works of fiction that can never occur is the point of this article.

DEUTERONOMY 18:10-11:
There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer: one who calls up the dead.

When watching movies that depict the dead coming back to life, one isn’t literally calling up the dead, but the imagery of watching the dead being called up from the grave is engrained in the brain and is mentally harmful.
