Many societal observers view the American economy as unsustainable and destined to crash due to the U.S. runaway federal deficit, the interest on this debt, and the federal and state government’s unfunded liabilities. The United States is not the only nation incurring unsustainable national debts. If America were to continue on its current economic course uninterrupted, then an American economic crash would likely happen, but that is not what is prophesied to occur. This article will discuss the global economic collapse that will occur, which will be accompanied by the great tribulation.

THE GLOBAL ECONOMIC COLLAPSE

REVELATION 18:10-11 (NKJV) [WITH INTERPRETATION]:
‘Alas, alas, that great city [NATION] Babylon [AMERICA], that mighty city [NATION]! For in one hour your judgment has come.’
And the merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her [AMERICA], for no one buys their merchandise anymore.

After Babylon (America) the great is destroyed, global merchants will mourn, because America will no longer be buying their merchandise. The logical conclusion of these verses is that up until the day that America is destroyed, it will be buying the world’s merchandise. Therefore, there will be no crippling American economic crash before America is destroyed.

A global economic collapse will occur after the destruction of the United States. The worldwide economic ramifications of the complete destruction of America will devastate the world economy. Global merchants will no longer be able to sell their goods to America, the great importer of the world’s merchandise. With no demand for their products, manufacturers around the world will lay off their employees and shut down their factories. Many millions of people will suddenly become unemployed. All U.S. foreign aid will cease being given to governments around the world. All U.S. debt will be wiped out instantly, as all the money owed to foreign governments and investors will never be repaid. All foreign reserve holdings of U.S. currency will become instantly worthless, as no world bank will accept U.S. dollars after America is destroyed.

After the demise of America, the hardest-hit manufacturing merchants will be in the countries of Canada, China, Germany, Japan, and Mexico. These countries sell autos, electronics, and all sorts of merchandise to America. After America is destroyed, these America-dependent countries will not be able to sell their products and no one will buy their merchandise anymore. China and Japan are also the top holders of U.S. debt, which will never be repaid to them after America is destroyed.[i]

EZEKIEL 7:19:
They will throw their silver into the streets, and their gold will be like refuse; Their silver and their gold will not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of YHWH (the Lord).

Worldwide holdings of precious metals will also become worthless, as world banking systems adjust to the global economic collapse that follows the destruction of America.

THE GREAT TRIBULATION

After Russia and a great assembly of nations destroy America (Jeremiah 50:9), global economic collapse and worldwide regional wars will break out. The destruction of America will mark the beginning of the great tribulation. America will no longer be there to police the world’s nations and restrain rivals like North and South Korea, China and Japan, India and Pakistan, and numerous other countries in the Middle East and elsewhere from waging war against each other. These countries, which had been prevented by America from waging war in the past, will now be free to wage war without any interference or repercussions from the United States. Nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom in the great tribulation wars that follow the destruction of the United States (Matthew 24:7; Mark 13:8; Luke 21:10).

One-third of the mankind will be killed during the great tribulation years (Revelation 9:15-18), beginning with the death of the unrighteous American people who will be killed when the United States is destroyed. The great tribulation will be great tribulation of regional wars. After the great tribulation wars conclude, the Antimessiah (Antichrist) will rise to power from the European Union and reign for seven years.
